I still believe that girl on the left is Elizabeth’s twin sister. She looks identical to Elizabeth at that age just with a mental disability. My grandfather came from a privileged family in Denmark. He was chauffeured to & from school by horse & buggy & not allowed to associate with anyone beneath his social status. When he was 18 he stowed away on a ship to America & is listed at Ellis Island upon arrival. He never looked back or went back. Learned English, became a citizen & was a Jack of all trades. A very humble man. He landed at America in early 1900s I believe. Proud of those that can strike out on their own & not be held to privileged standards.

I'm glad she made it home safe and will freely admit this plan took guts and brains for a sheltered kid to pull off, but I honestly hope she got a good spanking for all the stress and worry she caused.
